In July/August of 1985 Second Ranger Co sent a contingent of RI's, and a couple of attached guys from 3rd bat., to the German Mountaineering school in Mittenwald, FRG. We did a lot of climbing in the Bavarian Alps and learned many different German rope installations and climbing techniques. (Thank you J.D. Kirby).  Below is photo taken of the group on top of one of the summits of the Alps.
