Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mark Jordan Message: USMRA August 2013 Meeting ...With 12 members present, Steve Hawk asks Bob Williams to open with a prayer...Bob delivers an excellent one and we hope Willard Langdon is enjoying his time away for the summer and will be back soon... ...Steve Hawk begins with a request to help a midget football 8 under team for $200 in getting jerseys...the lady at the PX initiated the request... Passed... ...the charter for our sponsored Boy Scouts came up about the gay discussion ; we have sponsored these boys since day 1...close to 20 years ago when Bob Suchke began the group.. David O'rear continued... ...Charles DeJarnette speaks about the Bible saying we should just love them...Bob Williams adds from his experience in teaching and coaching that this opportunity for us to sponsor them "affects kids who can be successful; won't hurt us a bit"... ...Ed Gross objected and gave a very good argument for leadership standards being ignored in the Boy Scouts in favor of monetary support from major sponsors...excellent consideration... ...Steve and Bob both talk about seeing many in schools who have needs for free lunches and clothes... ...Sunny Bragg asked what we're voting on after making a 'point of order'. ...I made motion to continue the sponsorship, seconded and passed with 3 dissenting, Ed, Sunny and Chris Fuller. ...Steve then asks for funds for a frozen drink and cotton candy machine...slushies and cotton candy...for ROTC cadets...can be used both here and there...$2,000.00... ...Sunny asks "who owns it"..Steve says "whoever buys it"...Ed Gross objects that it's not for Rangers and their families... Steve can't make motion; he's just the messenger...think about it for a bit...tabled til later... ...Al Parten asks to nominate Jeff Eversole for Fallen Ranger per request by Cookie Brinkley, a long time friend of the Rangers...Bob says he has 5 requests already and who gets the required information into Bob first will be the ones selected for 2014... ...the back of the OverHang on a cool summer evening was enjoyed by all of u, and s as there was no dissenting vote to adjourn, Bullet Bob Suchke being OTF...we sat and enjoyed the camaraderie of being together again... ...respectfully submitted... ...RLTW... ...Lt Fuzz, Secretary/Treasurer |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Chuck Windham, Secretary Message: Good day Rangers. Our monthly meeting is this Thursday, Dec 4th at the Overhang. We will nominate and vote for Officers for the Association at this meeting for the coming year. Come and be a part of a great group. Better yet, throw your name in the hat and be a leader. I forgot to add that Chaplain Willard Langdon was at the November meeting and back in rare form, as we had missed him the last two meeting. He delivered a great invocation as usual. See you there!
