Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Joe Mattison Message: For Bill Breen: You're very astute to post such a posting, but for the benefit of all members, I ask that you further post more information on who he was, and what it was that he did, that made him a "hero" above and beyond....I know his story, and you obviously know his story, but please tell the rest of the folks....his story. He was found at home by his son, at the age of 68 of an apparent heart attack. He was a soldier once, and young. Thanks...Joe |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Joe Mattison Message: Tell him to stack his pillows high, keep his head elevated, use Vicks vapor rub under his nose and on his upper lip as well as his chest. Tell him to use his incentive spirometer that they gave him at the hospital every hour while he's awake, at with 10 deep breath efforts every hour, and most importantly....keep the Budweiser to no more the 6 cans a day....yep thats 12 oz cans! Glad to know he's ok, but don't tell him I said so. How's Charlie Daniels? |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Bob Suchke Message: General John Shalikashvili, former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff and brother to Colonel Othar Shalikashvili passed away Saturday, 23 July, 2011. Colonel Othar Shalikashvili was the Mountain Ranger Camp Commander back in the late 1960's. Our condolences go out to Col Shali and his family. |
