Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Doug MacCallum Message: My first E-50LRRP/E-75RANGER reunion was in Columbia,SC in 1997. Took a tour thru Ft. Jackson where I took basic in 1967. Talked to a few DI's who had CIB's. Said they were getting out so I asked why. "Can't yell at the trainees anymore, it might traumatize them." Think there were "stress cards" also, to get the little weenies out of anything they didn't like doing. Pathetic! Guys, many thanks for the great job you do with Fallen Ranger ceremony. Whats the standard hour of operation for the overhang.Always have a hit and mise when Im in the area and its a few clics from Blairsville on my bike and sometimes find it closed and I am only sure about the 19th at 1700 hrs. huh Joe. Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Jim Regan Message: Good morning all! Had the chance to be a part of a Program to recognize & thank, Veterans at a Nursing Home. There were ten of them. WW II and one Korea Vet. Program was short and sweet. Met one of the fellows the other day. He was Army, and was Gen. Macarthur's cook throughout the time in new Guinea and the Philippines. Ninety-two years old, but still has his memory! Ya see, he was w/ the General when he was evacuated/escaping from Corregidor, in 1942. In fact, he road in my Dad's PT Boat, PT 41, for the treacherous journey, through Jap infested waters. I'll send a copy of my stuff to Chuck Windham. Hope all's well with you and yours.
