Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Jim Owens Message: I do not think you will have to worry to much, I do not believe they will be physically able to perform as their Male counter parts. I just cannot see them carrying the heavy ruck sack in the mountain phase, for the same distance and duration, nor being able to carry the machine gun on just one patrol much less several, nor being able to do any of the physically demanding work the same as their male counter parts, WITHOUT EXEMPTIONS, which would defeat the equality of the same RANGER COURSE to all attendees. We all know its a Leadership course, however, its a very physically demanding Leadership course at that. Boils down to only one concept; You lower the standards for all, so they will pass, if thats the ultimate goal of higher Leadership, or you keep it the same as it stands. Gonna be alot of moeney spent for very little return on female Rangers.....The Mountain Phase will be their down fall for sure. Jim Owens |

Hope all's well w/the folks at the MRC AO. Reckon the hills look really good w/ all the leaves turning. Got to appreciate that kind of stuff while hanging out up there. Already looking forward to Critter Cook Out and indeed, our LRRP reunion at Texas, in 2015. Y'all take care. Stay warm & dry. Holidays/holidays are coming up. Careful on Camp Road and watch out for "Exit 1 & 2!!!" Jim RLTW/L&P |
