Posted: 04/27/2022 Name: Michael T Lambert Message: I completed Ranger Training in the fall of 1969 (October I think) my DD 214 days USArmy Ranger School 1969. I was a Marine At the time. I served with Hotel Co 2bn 5th Marines in Vietnam from 11/67 til 12/68. I was a rifle platoon leader (0302) and fought in the battle of Hue City Tet 1968. I received my Ranger Tab at the Fla. portion of the training along with 11 other Marines and 2 SEALS. Am I eligible for membership? If so, may I come to the open house Saturday? |

Posted: 04/21/2022 Name: Al Parten Message: Okay Rangers. The CCO is quickly approaching. If you are bringing meat to be smoked or cooked Friday, please make sure it is not frozen. The smoking crew and I plan on lighting the fires before BMNT. Anyone that wants to bring anything to cook is welcome and appreciated. We welcome those that want to help prepare and serve as well. Posted: 04/17/2022 Name: Bob Williams Message: The lack of information on the Unit Roster such as Ranger class number and units served reflects the information provided to us in the membership application. If a class number is not shown, the typical reason is that the member served in one of the lettered Ranger companies during the Vietnam era. We are always ready to update information on the Unit Roster when it is provided. Just send it to me in an email. The cost of the tables will be reported in the April meeting minutes that will be sent out to members prior to the May meeting. Our financial records are open for review, but we do not post financial information on this public forum. All money spent by the association must be recommended by the board of directors then approved by the member present at the monthly meeting in accordance with our bylaws. The Overhang Club provides a host of resources to the USMRA during the Critter Cookout. Our mission is to provide support to the soldiers at camp not take funds from the one organization that legally operates in a way that provides extra activities to the soldiers and families outside of the limited resources provided by Ft. Benning. The USMRA and the Overhang Club/NCO Association work hand-in-hand on several projects throughout the year. |

Posted: 04/16/2022 Name: Bob Williams Message: The 5th Ranger Training Battalion will conduct the annual Ranger Ball on April 22, 2022 near Clermont, GA 30527. I will send the actual address upon request. The doors open at 1700, receiving line forms at 1800, and formal activities begin around 1900. In support of the Ranger Ball, the USMRA has purchased two tables (16 seats) for the evening. If you and your significant other would like to attend, there is no additional cost. However, I need to you to respond to this email so that I can provide a good guess as to our numbers. Also, if you plan to attend and are a RHOF member, I need to know so that I can inform the command as they prepare the receiving line. I hope to see many of you there. |
