Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mark Jordan, S1 Message: ...Sharon ...please know I loved Ross like a big brother...he was authentic!...a rare rare person who finds his own path leading off into the deep woods where most don't go.. ...Ross's words to me are remembered, the things he said with that soft but direct look that sees to your soul... I wanted to be with him more, enjoying the few times we did share...but I am there still too where others gathered to be blessed for such an occasion...as is Ross... ...He's smiling now and chuckling like he does, I know...he's been with me at Benning and back...as he's with you Sharon and his sons and all those he loved, right now, wherever... ...a huge family of loved ones gather in these moments, a celebration of again being present with Ross...we bade farewell and all he did was leave that old cocoon... ...Ross is Love...he's still chuckling but he knows it!... ...Blessings of Peace Sharon! |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mike Flack Message: It's been forty years, but I still look at the weather reports for North Georgia and feel for those who are walking in it. Those were some long, cold nights. I know each of us has his own stories about those times, but for some reason, I just can't seem to get over it. Every time it snows or gets colder than normal, as has been the case lately, I am thankful for my own warm situation and mindful of those who are out in it. Bless 'em all. Rangers Lead the Way! |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Joey B King Message: Mike: the picture with KK's uniform, was in the Sunday Tennesean "Portfolio" section (paper copy). It is not in the online edition that I could find. The exhibit starts May 28. I hope to go on Aug 11. I think you live in the Nashville area like me. I live in La Vergne. Jim: Interesting that they had officer and enlisted platoons in the early 1960s. When I went through in class 11-85 we wore no rank and were mixed in together. If I had not told my classmates that I was a lieutenant, they would have never known. I have no idea how they do it now. |
