You'll find a lot of benefits and instructions on how to file for those benefits. The new GI Bill is now in effect, and information updates are available about that program as well. You can also down load a full booklet in Veterans Benefits, where to go, and how to apply. |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: ron rice Message: i received a surprise in the mail today after 44 years. My air medal w/2 oak leaf clusters. 75+combat hours over RVN. One more medal to go. I rescued a crashed chopper crew from war zone D using mcguire rigs in nov 66. hope fully i will get that one soon. Also, army times said the problem with the threats and explosions were from Benning support troops. Still, it gives MRC a bad rap.. RLTW Ron (Ropes) Rice |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Jim Regan Message: Met a fellow at the VA Hospital the other day. He was manning the information desk, as a DAV Volunteer. I stopped to chat and he saw my hat w/ H Co, 75th Rangers. He said he had been w/ "O" Co, 173rd in the 'Nam. I said ,"Oh, you were with the HERD huh?" He smiled and said that he had not heard it called the HERD for quite a while. We talked, he in kinda stilted words, like he might have been head injured. Said he worked at the Mountain Ranger Camp , Mountaineering Committee, back in '72. His name is Paul Temmermand. E-mail is ; p_temmermand@hotmail.com. Does anyone remember this fellow?
